2019 Constitutional Officer Mass Meeting
of the Augusta County Republican Committee
of the Republican Party of Virginia
As Chairman of the Augusta County Committee of the Republican Party, and pursuant to the Plan of
Organization, and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, Rebecca Simmons, do hereby
issue this call for a Mass Meeting to be held at the Augusta County Government Center, 18
Government Center Lane, Verona, Virginia, 24482 starting at 7:00PM local time on May 2, 2019, for
the purpose of nominating Republican candidates for the Augusta County offices of Sheriff,
Treasurer, Commissioner of the Revenue, and Commonwealth Attorney to be voted for in the
general election on November 5, 2019.
Qualifications for Participation
All legal and qualified voters of Augusta County, Virginia, under the laws of the Commonwealth of
Virginia and who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who will sign a written
certification their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the November 5, 2019
general election and who will be required to present a validly issued photographic identification as
defined by the Virginia Department of Elections, may participate in this Mass Meeting..
Candidate Filing Requirements
Each candidate for the nomination at said Mass Meeting shall submit a pre-file form, along with a
nonrefundable filing fee of $500.00 money order, personal check or Credit Card and made to
Augusta County Republican Committee. Please mail to P.O. Box 430, Verona VA. 24482 or deliver
in person, to Kirk Barley, Treasurer or Rebecca Simmons, Chairman. Filing Form must be received
not later than March 14th, 2019 at 5:00 PM. Kirk Barley or Rebecca Simmons and/or his/her proxy,
will be at the above location (Verona Post Office) from 4:00 to 5:00PM on this date (March 14th,
2019) to receive any last-minute filings. The pre-file form can be obtained on the ACRC website at
www.augustavagop.com, the RPV website at www.rpv.org, and the Sixth District website,
sixthdistrictgop.org. Postmarks shall not govern.
Registration
Registration for the Mass Meeting will begin at 6:00PM and end at 7:00PM. All persons in line by
7:00PM will be allowed to register for the Mass Meeting. There is no pre-filing required, however, in
order to expedite the registration process please print the Participant Filing Form, found at
www.augustavagop.com, complete it and bring it with you to the Mass Meeting. There will be no
registration fee for voters to participate in this Mass Meeting. The Augusta County Republican
Committee does accept donations to assist in the process of getting our nominees elected to public
office in the November 5, 2019 general election.
Rules
The Mass Meeting rules will be available at the ACRC website at www.augustavagop.com, the RPV
website at www.rpv.org, and the Sixth District website, sixthdistrictgop.organd will be read at
the beginning of the Mass Meeting. If only one candidate properly files for an office, said candidate
shall be declared the Republican nominee for said office. If all offices only have one candidate
properly filed, then those candidates for said offices shall be declared the Republican
nominee and no Mass Meeting will be held.
Approval/Publication/Revisions
The Augusta County Republican Committee voted at a duly called meeting on February 19, 2019, to
approve the terms of this Call, authorize the Chairman to make technical changes if required and, by
2/3 majority of the Committee, to waive publication of this call in a newspaper.
