I, Bryan M. Cave of the Page County Republican Committee, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and recommended and directed by the Committee, do hereby issue this notice and call for a Mass Meeting of the Page County Republican Committee to be held on Wednesday May 1, 2019 at the Luray VFW located 218 Veterans Lane, Luray, VA 22835 starting at 6:30PM with registration beginning at 6:00PM for the following purpose:
1. Nominating a Republican candidate for the offices of Sheriff, Commissioners of Revenue, Commonwealth’s Attorney, and Treasurer to be voted for in the general election to be held on November 5, 2019.
2. Nominate Republican candidate for the Board of Supervisors (Districts 2, 3, and 4) to be voted for in the general election to be held on November 5, 2019.
3. Transaction of such other business as may properly come before the Mass Meeting.
4. Adjournment

Qualifications and Participation

All legal and qualified voters of Page County under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or gender, who are in the accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested , express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meeting, party canvasses, conventions or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.

Filing Requirements

Candidates for election to office shall state their intention, via filing form, delivered by mail or in Person to Bryan M. Cave, at the Page County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, 116 South Court St, Luray, VA 22835. The form and filing fee must be received no later than 5:00pm, Monday, April 22, 2019. The prefilling form is attached to the call or can be picked up, in person, from the Page County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. Candidates for any constitutional office (Sheriff, Commissioner of Revenue, Treasurer, and Commonwealth’s Attorney) shall have a $100.00 filing fee.
Candidates for the office of Board of Supervisors (Districts 2, 3, and 4) shall have a $50.00 filing fee.
If only one candidate properly pre-files for the nomination for an office then such properly filed person shall be deemed nominated. Should only one candidate properly filed for each public office position the Mass Meeting will be cancelled.

Registration Fee
Proper ID required. There is no registration fee for the Mass Meeting.

Proper Notice

The Call for this Mass Meeting is herewith published on social media sites, in the local newspaper on April 11, 2019, and forwarded to the Sixth Congressional District Committee. Copies of the Call were sent via email to all members of the Page County Republican committee and the Chairman of the Sixth District.
